Pipeline Design

Pipeline design normally consists of the following stages:

1. Pipeline routing.
The routing will determine the number of     important design parameters, such as         required depth of cover, zones of human     habitation zones,  other infrastructure         crossings such as roads, railways,               waterways etc.

2. Hydraulic parameters.

The required pressure profile has a

    predominant effect on the required

    basic pipeline wall thickness.

3. Pipeline support scheme.

Even underground pipelines have to be

    supported at their above ground

portions such distribution manifolds,           pigging facilities, etc. The installation of       anchor blocks can be an important             factor for future stability point of view.
